Mentoring Program - Digital Photography Institute

You Can Work with Mark One-on-One!
effectively use your equipment and accelerate your business knowledge

"I've gained more knowledge with Mark as a personal instructor than all of the teachings and colleges combined.  I'm very impressed with his knowledge of the most simple to the most complex of situations photography has to offer.  His recommendations, patience and business savvy have helped me improve not only my business, but product results have been outstanding by way of my own customers' testimonials.  I'm looking for that big editorial spread in my favorite fashion magazine, and when that day comes, I will have Mark to thank for that push."
Beverli Alford, Fashion Photographer and CEO, PhotoPlay Dzigns

I exuberantly recommend Mark. He is extremely knowledgeable in all areas of photography (as well as having the skills needed to produce beautiful pictures), but more importantly, he is a great instructor; he has the ability to convey information in a manner that is understandable, not unnecessary technical or complicated, and does it all with patience, good humor and with a honest and warm concern for the needs of his clients."
James Andrews, Professional Photographer & Owner, DC Designs

"Thank you very much for a really productive few hours of consulting. Your ability to answer my wide ranging technical questions and willingness to explore media options on the spot with such patience and positive energy made light work! Your consultation today enabled me to take the next important steps to speed up prioritization and processing of the content and work with photos and more."

INITIAL Review: This initial photography review includes an analysis of your current needs and requirements. We have time in this session to look over your portfolio, discuss some challenges and provide some solutions. We can conduct an assessment survey to ascertain your business objectives (even if they are part-time), knowledge level and your goals. Some people use this review period to set up a timetable to implement their goals. It also is a good opportunity to determine working styles and rapport.

Frequently Asked Questions & Answers
The following FAQ's have been taken from previous and current mentees as well as from those attendees to Mark Sincevich's professional speaking programs.

Q - I'm starting a part-time business in photography and want to know how to add copyrights and watermarks to my photographs that I display on my web site.
A
- Since having a photography business is one of your objectives, we would map out a plan of action over our time together. One area where we would focus is on making sure you have the necessary support infrastructure to support your business. We would also take time one-on-one whereby I would show you how to protect the copyrights of your images and to affix watermarks to all images that you will be using for the Internet.

Q - I have boxes of slides and negatives in my closet. What is the best way to get these into my computer so that I can edit and print without going to a photo lab?
A
- Before you go and purchase a scanner, we will take a comprehensive review of what you would like to accomplish, how often you plan on working with your digital photography system and your budget.Once we determine where you would like to go, you will be given recommendations. Once you make your choice, then I will configure your system to accept the new piece of hardware. Also, we will work together to set up a system that allows you to tackle this project a little bit each week and we will work on such issues as numbering, database considerations and backup and recovery.

Q - How can I get a written business and marketing plan so that I can then go out an implement these?   During this time I would like to get a critique of my photographs and get further suggestions for improvement.
A -
A business and marketing plan will be created along with clear goals and objectives. This information will be updated during our time together. You will be able to see improvements in your business and your plan will be adjusted accordingly. When we would be working together, you would have the ability to receive constructive feedback on your photography and then implement this in the field during two different photography field trips.
